This reissue featured remastered tracks taken from the original master tapes for the album. The reissue also boasts additional tracks along with sleeve notes, photos and restored artwork.

Enola Gay was the only single released from the album.

VCLXI was the name of Andy and Paul's early experimental partnership. The title actually comes from a number on a valve that features on the reverse of the sleeve for Kraftwerk's album Radioactivity.

Motion And Heart was briefly considered as a possible second single and the band subsequently recorded a new version at Amazon Studios, Liverpool. This version featured on the B-Side of Souvenir.

The lyrics in Statues are partially about Ian Curtis, the lead singer of Joy Division who died in early 1980 . OMD had played with Joy Division at early concerts and the band's melancholic feel had a profound effect during the recording of Organisation.

The Misunderstanding had already been performed as part of a session for the John Peel Show on Radio 1 (BBC) in early October.

The More I See You is a cover version of a song originally sung by Dick Hayes in the 1945 film Billy Rose's Diamond Horseshoe. It wasn't until 1966, however, that US singer Chris Montez did his own version which was a big hit in the UK at the time. OMD's version actually started out as a separate song but then Andy began singing the lyrics to The MoreI See You over the top and decided that they complemented each other.

Promise marked Paul Humphrey's debut as lead vocalist on a song he had also written himself.

Stanlow is actually the name of an oil refinery located on the Wirral peninsula at EllesmerePort. As well as Andy's father and sister both working there, the breathtaking view of the refinery lit up at night was a welcome sight to the band when coming home from tours. The rhythmic intro is actually one of the diesel pumps at Stanlow recorded by Andy himself.

Annex originally appeared as a B-Side on the 1980 single Enola Gay and subsequently appeared on the B-Sides compilation Navigation.

Introducing Radios, Distance Fades Between Us, Progress and Once When I Was Six all originally appeared on the OMD Dep 2 EP that was issued free with initial vinyl releases of Organisation in 1980. The tracks were actually recorded during a gig at Eric's Club, Liverpool and feature a spoken introduction by Dave Fairbairn.

When Virgin embarked on this series of reissues they realised that they no longer had the artwork on file. This meant they had to recreate the original sleeve design.

Ironically, an article at the time in the design magazine Creative Review revealed where the original artwork was. Peter Saville was putting together a book that showcased his designs - including his sleeve design work. Photos in the article clearly showed boxes full of OMD album artwork!

The sleeve depicts a moody landscape scene. This was chosen by Peter Saville from a photo library and was picked to reflect the melancholic tone of the album.

The Dep2 tracks reflected OMD's early collage approach in which excerpts taken from radio and TV broadcasts would be cut and edited into songs. Once When I Was Six features dialogue taken from the TV drama series The Pallisers (1974) based on the the novels of Anthony Trollope.
