Arthur Baker is a well-established name in the music business best known for his involvement in US 80's dance music and working with the likes of New Order.

Merge was a compilation album designed to reflect Arthur Baker's eclectic musical tastes.

Andy McCluskey's contribution was something of side project during a period in which he was writing new OMD material (later to emerge on the Sugar Tax album).

This album also featured Ettiene Daho who had met OMD during the 1980's and had even shared vocals for a performance conducted for French TV!
