This release featured a totally different remix of Tesla Girls.

An orchestra was recording a version of 'The Theme From Shaft' in one of the other studios at Wisselord. OMD "borrowed" some samples which were thrown into a new arrangement of Tesla Girls they were working on.

The sleeve and label are identical to the original 12" Release and do not list the amended tracklisting. However, it was issued with a sticker on the front which listed the correct tracks.

Tesla Girls had been inspired by Nikola Tesla - a Yugolsavian-born scientist responsible for the Alternating Current.

The title Tesla Girls was suggested by Martha Ladly (from the band Martha & The Muffins).

Garden City raised some debate in the band about whether or not they should  keep the "F" word in the lyrics.
