Initial releases of the single were sealed in a stickered plastic bag. The sleeve was a poster which opened up into a picture of the sleeve with a promo picture of Crush on the reverse.

Later releases came in a standard paper sleeve.

Drift was actually written by Paul Humphreys and Martin Cooper.

Maureen Humphreys recorded the "secret" sample used in the song. This sample was taken from the band's extensive Emulator library and had originally been recorded the previous year.
