Thomas Lang was an established artist who had signed to Telegraph Records in the early 1990's. Telegraph Records was, of course, home to The Listening Pool - the band that Paul Humphreys, Mal Holmes and Martin Cooper had formed after the original split of OMD.

This album was a collection of cover versions of songs some of which had originally been written or performed by artists such as Tom Waits, Billie Holliday and Stevie Wonder interpreted in Thomas Lang's own individual style.

The contributing musicians and personnel almost reads like an OMD who's who, but most notably for Paul Humphreys' work as producer on several of the songs.

Dave Hughes had enjoyed a brief period as keyboardist in early OMD and had also been a founder member of both Dalek I Love You and Godot - two other significant synthpop outfits that employed a distinctive and eclectic style. In more recent times, Dave Hughes has concentrated on film soundtrack projects .

As well as co-producing If I'd Never Known You, the track features keyboards by Dave Hughes.

Use Me was originally recorded by Bill Withers. As well as co-producing the song, Paul Humphreys is credited for keyboards and programming.

Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood had been a hit for the Animals in 1965. This version features additional production work by Paul Humphreys.

God Bless The Child was originally recorded by Billie Holliday. As well as producing the song, the track features keyboards by Dave Hughes.

Rain was originally performed by Dr John. As well as producing and arranging the song, the track features keyboards and string arrangements by Dave Hughes.

Wild Strawberries originally appeared on The Listening Pool album Still Life. This version was remixed by Paul Humphreys and features keyboards and programming by Paul along with Mal Holmes and Martin Cooper.

San Diego Seranade was originally recorded by Tom Waits. As well as producing and arranging the song, the track features keyboards and string arrangements by Dave Hughes.

(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want To Be Right was originally recorded by Luther Ingram and also been covered by Rod Stewart and ZZ Top. As well as producing and arranging the song, the track features keyboards and string arrangements by Dave Hughes.

Blame It On The Sun was originally recorded by Stevie Wonder. This version was recorded live.

I Fell In Love With The Moon originally originally featured in the film Leon The Pig Farmer (1992). As well as producing and arranging the song, the track features keyboards and string arrangements by Dave Hughes.

Wild Strawberries was one of the earliest Listening Pool songs written and the song was actually conceived when Paul, Mal and Martin were still in OMD.

Although he has occasionaly worked on music projects such as this album, Dave Hughes has concentrated mainly on film soundtrack work throughout the 90's to the present day. His earliest soundtrack work was in collaboration with Martin Cooper for the films Hearts And Armour (1983) and CHUD (1984).

But since teaming up with John Murphy, Dave Hughes has made more of an impact by scoring successful films such as Leon The Pig Farmer (1992) and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels (1998).
