New wave cassette magnets

Postby Sensoria » Fri Mar 16, 2012 11:41 pm

Well this would have been OMD related had I had some OMD cassettes.

I moved recently and had to downsize so it was time to dump the tub o' tapes I have been lugging around since 1990. I kept all the sleeves and made them into fridge magnets. I thought they came out pretty cool. I will have to keep my eye out for some OMD cassettes now!

Now what to do with my Roxy Music 8-track..... :D

Those wouldn't be Funny Face mugs on top of the fridge would they?

good eye Muse! They most certainly are! I got really lucky and found a whole set at the flea market. I still have two from when I was little though.

The only one I don't have is the elusive chocolate one. Looking at this pix on flicker there was a pitcher as well! May have to look for that

That is frickin' awesome! My mug was Goofy Grape. We also had the orange, strawberry and I think cherry. Dad probably still has them up in the cupboard. I don't remember there being a chocolate drink.

That fridge magnet idea is the smartest damn thing I have ever seen in my life! Can you give a quick overview how you did it? Looks like you probably just glued the tape onto a sheet of magnetic stuff and then cut around it? Did you treat the paper at all?

I have never seen those funny face mugs at all and we must be pretty close in age. When do they date from?

Here's a nice blog about Funny Face. Although we drank it in the 70s.

Well Thanks Amhilde! Yes I just put them on a sheet of stcky back magnets and trimmed them out. I did laminate the first batch, but I didn't really like it as much.

I forgot how much art they used to shove into those things. Like this one which was inside the I feel You casette single...
