Which bands have you bought tickets to see in 2016?

Postby BlackPaperCrown » Mon Jun 08, 2015 4:11 pm

This is the earliest I have ever started a thread for next year. More than 6 months before the end of the prior year.
a-ha (28th March at the Hydro in Glasgow). Tickets are ridiculously expensive for this totally soulless venue but what can you do ...

Wow, another two already
Ian McNabb (4th and 5th March at the Green Hotel, Kinross). A superb venue that makes for an excellent intimate concert. I wonder if he will play 50 songs across 2 gigs, like he did back in 2011 ...

I have purchased a ticket to go see Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors at the Troubadour in February 2016. I've been wanting to see him for a while and finally the stars have aligned.

2016 is starting slowly but steadily
The Maine supporting Mayday Parade (3rd February in Glasgow) because The Maine are a really good band. I have no idea who Mayday Parade are

2016 is starting to fill up nicely ...
Graham Bonnet (5th February, Glasgow) he is THE voice of Rainbow (not Joe Lynn Turner)
Hurts (11h February, Glasgow) they are back
Marina & The Diamonds (16th February, Glasgow) yes, seeing her again within 3 months
Marina & The Diamonds (20th February, London) I am not sure if I am making this trip yet but the ticket is booked as her gigs tend to sell out in a flash
White (20th February, Glasgow) hmm, a gig clash. White might well win this one
Stranglers (3rd March, Perth) I have not seen them play in Perth since 2004
Stranglers (5th March, Glasgow) Glasgow is the best place to see them
Stranglers (9th March, Newcastle) to round off the hat-trick
Midstock festival (3rd September, Dalkeith) booked early (= cheaply) in case any good bands are playing

It is 8 years since he last played in the UK
Joe Jackson (7th February, Edinburgh) wow
Joe Jackson (8th February, Gateshead) double wow
He is only playing 5 dates in the UK as part of his vast European tour. I am so pleased to have tickets for both these shows

Fresh from their support slot for the phenomenal Imagine Dragons -
Sunset Sons (24th March at the Queen Margaret Union in Glasgow). I can see that show upgrading to a larger venue ...
