The ringing in my ears after seeing StillMariliion play a totally sold out 2 hour concert last night. They are (in case you had not guessed) a Marillion tribute band who play only the Fish-era Marillion music. Given it is 30 years since the Misplaced Childhood album was released, they played the album in its entirety, perfectly, end to end in one go, along with b-sides of singles and bonus tracks. It is about 30 years since I last heard Freaks live. They also played a whole host of other Marillion album classic songs. It was a superb night and I was amazed just how many of the lyrics I remembered

Lots of Suede this week - after seeing them on TV at Glastonbury I went out and bought some albums. Fantastic stuff!

I can't believe I'm only hearing this now after 36 years! Better late than never.

I have just found another band called ACTORS after a recommendation by someone I have no idea who that person was but they had just seen White live at the Reading Festival and were very impressed. A person of good taste.

ACTORS are a Canadian band who have been going for a couple of years now and released quite a few tracks via Bandcamp. Their sound is 80s retro with a bit of bass beats and while not 100% to my style, they are pleasant enough to listen to. I think a few of you here might like their groove. One of the albums is a 6 track remix of one of their songs by other artists. Oh, you can actually buy then download all their tracks for free anyway so it is worth a punt!

Orbital - Live at Tribal Gathering 1997

Someone put this up on YouTube. One of my first gigs and still tops of my greatest ever gigs list, possibly even topping Depeche RAH '10: The Return of ALAN! So much energy, just after In Sides came out. Blows the doors off the show I saw them do in 2012.

Music Complete - New Order

Currently in a mini-Depeche cycle, as so happens every six months or so. Revisiting Some Great Reward and Ultra.

Also - new Underworld album forthcoming, listened to the teaser bits today, but really need to hear the whole songs (in time I guess)

Can I just say that although I have little love for New Order, Music Complete is a great album name.
