Virgin
Records in France have just released a special edition of the OMD
Singles album. This 2 CD version features the original track listing found
on the UK release as well as an additional CD featuring a variety of remixes.
The remixes by David Guetta & Joachim Garraud
are recent mixes, but the surprise bonus tracks are the Mulu
mixes of Joan Of Arc and Maid
Of Orleans. These remixes date back prior to the release of the OMD Singles
album when various artists were approached to remix OMD songs for the album. The
Mulu mixes were a particular favourite of Andy's, but were dropped when the original
plans for a 2 CD set (with an additional CD of remixes) were shelved.
The sleeve has also been altered and now shows a black background (which was actually the original idea for the OMD Singles sleeve design).
The track listing for the additional CD is as follows:
- Enola Gay (Remix By David Guetta & Joachim Garraud)
- Enola Gay (Omd Vs Sash)
- Souvenir (7am Version)
- Souvenir (Me & Us Mix)
- Souvenir (Hard House Version)
- Souvenir (Moby Remix)
- Electricity (The Micronauts Remix)
- Apollo XI (440 Northern Electronic Soul Remix)
- Joan Of Arc (Organ Mix By Mulu)
- Maid Of Orleans (Afterhours Mix By Mulu)
- Enola Gay (Dancefloor Killa Remix By David Guetta & Joachim Garraud)
A new OMD Survey is now up: What is your favourite Pacific Age
song?
The Unnofficial OMD Covers
website features new cover versions by Electrobronze.
The tracks are The New Dark Age and Gospel
of St Jude. Electrobronze feature on the We Love
You fan tribute album and are also playing at the Radio
Waves event later this year.
There is also an interview with Roger Erickson
(aka Apathy In Motion) on the site.
