18th August 2001

Congratulations to Atomic Kitten on their live performance in London last night. The girls were engaging and energetic for the whole set which featured all the hits: Whole Again, I Want Your Love, See Ya and, of course, Eternal Flame. During the show, Jenny had some slight problems with a rather too revealing top, so had to change it rather rapidly ;-). The girls were also joined on stage at the end by Brian from Big Brother for See Ya. The crowd (aged, it seemed, from 8 to 80) loved it all. A night of pure pop confectionery.

All change with the next Atomic Kitten single Eternal Flame. You Turn Me On is now not going to be the B-Side, instead the track is being remixed with a view to it being a potential single in the future. Whole Again, meanwhile, has made No. 1 in New Zealand and top ten in Austria, Sweden and Germany. The single has sold in excess of 900,000 copies and is well on the way to sales of 1 million.

Atomic Kitten themselves spent yesterday performing for Nelson Mandela in Trafalgar Square in London. The Race For Life concert saw the Kittens performing alongside the likes of REM & The Corrs.

Atomic Kitten get pixellated? Click here for the truth ;-)

5th March 2001

Atomic Kitten's long reign at the top of the UK charts has ended as the Platinum-selling single Whole Again drops to No. 2.

Anyone who caught Friday's performance on Top Of The Pops here in the UK would have been in for a treat as the girls performed Whole Again live with a band. If you looked really close you would have also spotted Stuart Kershaw playing keyboards in the band.

The reworked Atomic Kitten album Right Now has been brought forward with a view to an April release. The album, as previously reported, will feature remixed songs and extra tracks.

Andy has just returned from a promotional trip to Germany with Atomic Kitten and the girls intend to return to do another round of radio promotions in April. Whole Again is also picking up interest in Italy.

Andy is also planning to accompany the Kittens on a promotional visit to Germany next month. The plan is to drop in on a few radio stations and explore the recent success of Atomic Kitten in the UK. The interesting point is that many of the stations still have a strong pro-OMD attitude and want to talk to Andy about his role in writing for the girls.

Don't read too much into tabloid reports on the Atomic Kitten album Right Now being withdrawn and totally re-recorded. The album is in the process of being re-worked, but mainly in the area of remixing some tracks, the possible addition of new songs and a brand new design for the sleeve artwork. The excellent Turn Me On is also being given the remix treatment with a view to releasing it as a possible single.

Congratulations to Atomic Kitten who have held on to their UK No. 1 spot for a second week.

The Kittens were also guests at last weeks NME Awards Party - an event that also featured U2. Natasha (getting into the spirit of things) opted to wear a T-shirt declaring "U2 - Just Another Irish Boy Band?".

Andy had also asked the girls to apologise to Bono on his behalf for the Kittens beating the boys to the No. 1 spot. In a nice gesture, Bono bought the girls a bottle of champagne and said he was happy to have at least been beaten by a good song.

4th February 2001

Whole Again has a classic pop-ballad feel to it and the various formats also include tracks such as Holiday and Locomotion.

If you'd like to see Atomic Kitten get to that No. 1 spot then go snap up copies of Whole Again tomorrow!

The girls are also making personal appearances at:

  • WH Smith, High Street, Cheltenham. 4pm 1st February
  • Virgin Megastore, Brents Cross London. 3pm 3rd February

Kerry has decided to leave Atomic Kitten to pursue her relationship with Westlife's Bryan McFadden. Kerry is pregnant and understandably wants to put the welfare of the baby first.

As a result, a new band member has been drafted in to replace Kerry. Jenny Frost, who was previously part of 1999 Eurovision hopefuls Precious will be taking Kerry's place.

9th January 2001

Atomic Kitten fans should note that Kerry has been busy with appearances in Hello! magazine along with a rather revealing feature in Sky magazine.
