More reviews for Navigation, this time on Amazon.co.uk:
"....this is a purposeful collection of B-Sides dating from
an era when filling-up the flipside with anything as lazy as dull out-of-house
extended remixes would result in a sound lynching from the fanbase.". |

Thanks to all those people who have ordered copies
of the Navigation album via the website. Apologies
if there is a slight delay with your orders. Virgin actually delivered the pre-release
copies later than anticipated. We needed these copies early so that Andy could sign the sleeves
prior to the release date. The good news is that Andy has been busily working
through the sleeves this week and orders will be on their way soon.

Expect to see Andy McCluskey
in the media a lot more with the impending release of Navigation,
inlcuding interviews and TV spots. Record Collector magazine
have interviewed Andy for a future issue in which Andy details how the B-Sides
album reveals a different side to OMD. While the general public might be more
familiar with the hit A-Sides, the B-Sides show that OMD were not afraid to be
experimental and innovative. |

Meanwhile, the track listing for the album has changed again with Vox Humana being dropped. The number of tracks on the album just went over the timing limit for a CD and support for tracks such as Burning edged Vox Humana out.
Therefore the new track listing will run as follows:
- Almost
- I Betray My Friends
- Waiting For The Man
- Annex
- Sacred Heart
- The Romance Of The Telescope
- Navigation
- 4-Neu
- 66 & Fading (Edit)
- Her Body In My Soul
- The Avenue
- Garden City
- Concrete Hands
- Firegun
- This Town
- Gravity Never Failed
- Burning
- Sugar Tax
- (The Angels Keep Turning) The Wheels Of The Universe
A few points about some of the songs appearing on the album:
Almost:
This is the original and unreleased version recorded by Andy and Paul on 'Winston'.
The Romance Of The Telescope
This is the original vinyl version mix and not the one that appears on the Dazzle Ships album. |

What would an OMD record be if its release date wasn't put back? Navigation - The OMD B-Sides has now been rescheduled for release on 14th May. |
| 17th March 2001 |
The B-Sides album gets a new track listing - and a title.
The track listing for Navigation - The OMD B-Sides (CDV2938) has been expanded to include 3 extra songs:
- Almost
- I Betray My Friends
- Waiting For The Man
- Annex
- Sacred Heart
- The Romance Of The Telescope
- Navigation
- 4-Neu
- 66 & Fading (Edit)
- Her Body In My Soul
- The Avenue
- Garden City
- Concrete Hands
- Firegun
- This Town
- Gravity Never Failed
- Burning
- Sugar Tax
- Vox Humana
- (The Angels Keep Turning) The Wheels Of The Universe
The running order has also been slightly amended from the version we posted
up in January. The good news is the addition of The Romance
Of The Telescope, 66 & Fading and Burning.
The version of 66 & Fading has been edited down to
under three minutes - A difficult decision, but the original version was just
a little too long for a track that is halfway through the album. |
