20th December 1999

Apologies first for the long delay in getting a news update on the site. Between Andy's commitments to Atomic Kitten and bouts of illness, and my own heavy work schedule, things have been too hectic for the past few weeks.

This busy period hasn't helped the OMD Calendar 2000: What should have been a relatively inexpensive project has turned into an unfeasibly expensive one. Time has also been against us during a very stressful period of sourcing quotes from printers and production companies. So unfortunately this is one project that we've been forced to drop. Apologies to all those people who emailed us expressing interest. Perhaps we'll be in a better position to do a similar project for next year.

Following on from the item on a new electronic music collection, Craig DeGraff (himself an OMD fan) from Rhino Records emails us with more details.  2000: An Electronic Dance Odyssey is described as a comprehensive 2-CD collection documenting the history of the electronic dance scene. The anthology set, scheduled for release on 17.03.00, will feature material from a wide variety of acts, including OMD, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, New Order, Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers and The Orb. The OMD song featured will be Electricity.

Finally, Andy and myself wish to thank everyone for their comments and support for the Official OMD Website. We also hope you all have a great Christmas and a successful New Year/Millennium. Emailed Christmas greetings for Andy and the website are welcome,  but please don't send any extra files (especially .exe files)  as we don't run any executable programs as a general rule.
