More on the forthcoming OMD Reissues: The release date has now been put back to 10th March. The albums will also be in the mid price range.

Virgin are also planning on releasing a double-pack featuring Junk Culture and Sugar Tax in the near future.

As previously reported on the news page, Mal Holmes has been keeping busy working with singer Jo Mooney. Mally has been working with Jo on material for a new album due for release in the near future. Mal describes the emerging sound as a "dark, jazz vibe".

Macondo are the band that contributed the quirky and fun version of Tesla Girls for the US OMD tribute album Messages. On the strength of that track, Macondo have secured a deal with Ninthwave Records and have also been working on material for their debut album due for release in February. Updates on the forthcoming reissues of Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, Organisation and Architecture & Morality: The release date is now scheduled as 17th February and the albums will feature in Virgin's mid-price range.

The reissues will feature the original artwork along with sleeve notes that incorporate new interviews with members of the band, including Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys. The albums will each feature additional bonus tracks and all the music has been meticulously remastered from the original analogue tapes. The details of the additional tracks are as follows:

OMD feature in a repeat of the TV show Top Ten Electropop. The programme looks at a number of artists and bands including the Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Erasure & Gary Numan.

For OMD's section, the programme has conducted interviews with Andy McCluskey, Paul Humphreys and Mal Holmes. The programme will be shown at 11:55pm on Channel 4 on Friday 10th January. Thanks to Dave H for bringing this to our attention.

Designer Peter Saville spent the early part of his career designing record sleeves for the Factory label and has produced sleeves for the likes of Joy Divison, New Order and also OMD - including the classic sleeves for Electricity, OMITD and Architecture And Morality.

Designed By Peter Saville is a new book that collects his work and covers design in a variety of fields including music, fashion, advertising and art.

The book also features a series of essays on Peter Saville's work by, amongst others, Peter York, Paul Morley and Miranda Sawyer. More details via www.magmabooks.com.

Visitors to the OMD Forum will have been aware of Virgin Radio running a poll on the The Top 100 Great British Artists. Gary Olvanhill flagged up the link and encouraged fans to vote for OMD. The final results saw OMD come in at No. 64. More info via www.virginradio.co.uk.
