As previously reported on the news page, Mal Holmes has been keeping busy working
with singer Jo Mooney. Mally has been working with
Jo on material for a new album due for release in the near future. Mal describes
the emerging sound as a "dark, jazz vibe".
Macondo are the band
that contributed the quirky and fun version of Tesla Girls
for the US OMD tribute album Messages. On the strength of that track, Macondo have secured a deal with Ninthwave
Records and have also been
working on material for their debut album due for release in February.

Updates on the forthcoming reissues of Orchestral
Manoeuvres In The Dark, Organisation and Architecture
& Morality: The release date is now scheduled as 17th
February and the albums will feature in Virgin's mid-price range.
The reissues will feature the original artwork along with sleeve notes that
incorporate new interviews with members of the band, including Andy
McCluskey and Paul Humphreys. The albums will
each feature additional bonus tracks and all the music has been meticulously remastered
from the original analogue tapes. The details of the additional tracks are as

OMD feature in a repeat of the TV show Top Ten Electropop. The programme looks at a number of artists and bands including the Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Erasure & Gary Numan.
For OMD's section, the programme has conducted interviews with Andy McCluskey, Paul Humphreys and Mal Holmes. The programme will be shown at 11:55pm on Channel 4 on Friday 10th January. Thanks to Dave H for bringing this to our attention. |

Designer Peter Saville spent the early part of his career designing record sleeves for the Factory label and has produced sleeves for the likes of Joy Divison, New Order and also OMD - including the classic sleeves for Electricity, OMITD and Architecture And Morality.
