Although Mal Holmes appears to have kept a low profile since last year, he's still alive and well and working on some new and exciting musical projects.

Some people might recall that the Fin Music website disappeared last year and were concerned with what had happened. Mally says that there was a particularly tense period last year in which a planned floatation deal for Fin fell through. There was also the frustrating situation where he had a critically acclaimed album (Loser Friendly by Dean Johnson), but not enough funds to market it.

Mal decided to put everything on hold for a while - including the Fin Music website - and spent some time in South Africa. Returning to the UK in October, Mally began working on a new musical project with Dean Johnson. This venture also featured Wet Wet Wet's Graham Clark, along with his wife who was providing vocals.

Unfortunately, Mally forgot to renew the Fin Music domain name during this time and someone else registered it! So if you visit finmusic.com, that domain has nothing to do with Mally.

Mally and Dean have also been working with a new singer called Jo Mooney. 22 year old Jo has "an amazing voice" according to Mally and the response so far to the new material has been very good indeed.

Outside of that, Mally and his partner have been working on a pilot for a new TV music show. Although Mally can't divulge many details of it at this stage, he does add that the response has been good.
