Plans for the forthcoming Unreleased Material album have taken a slight change of direction. Andy McCluskey is now considering adding new material to the planned album and releasing it via another label rather than Virgin.

Regular visitors might also recall that Andy had plans to work on his own solo project in 2005. Now for the first time he's spoken more clearly about the idea:

"I actually would quite like to do something that was just for me again. Because I think enough time has passed that I would enjoy doing it again."
"I had to stop and get OMD out of my system and that has happened. But also, quite simply, I still do like doing stuff and if the other things I'm doing don't make me any money then I can do my own stuff, be it OMD or something, and probably have a career. "

You can read more about these plans as well as Andy's comments on the forthcoming Dazzle Ships reissue and updates on all the other artists he's working with in issue 4 of Messages.

Meanwhile,OneTwo's debut album gets ever closer as Paul Humphreys reveals:

"I think we've got some really belting songs for this record and I like the whole sound that we're making. We've kind of developed a bit from Item, gone even more electronic and experimental"

Again, more on Paul's thoughts in a new interview conducted for issue 4 of Messages in which he also chats about the Dazzle Ships reissue and his plans for the future of OneTwo.

Dismayed at the state of the Red Frame/White Light telephone box on the Wirral, OMD Forum regular Corky decided to take matters into his own hands by embarking on a grassroots campaign.

Since then, matters have taken on a life of their own. Corky's campaign pulled in a local councillor to fight for the cause and the local press also got involved, including this item which also flags up the planned visit as part of the forthcoming OMD Event.

The visit to the phonebox is also going to be the focus of media attention for BBC Merseyside and the Wirral News. The press are also going to be staging a separate interview with Andy McCluskey himself on this unique part of OMD history.

The OMD Discography has now been updated and the new revised version 5.0 is online.

The existing entries in the Discography have been substantially updated, corrected and expanded. Many entries have new scans of their sleeves or have been enhanced by additional images, including sleeve details and scans of cassettes for tape releases.

The Discography also boasts several new sections covering Compilations, The Id, Godot, The Listening Pool, OneTwo and Atomic Kitten.

Points of detail such as sleeve changes, label alterations and versions have also now been added to many of the releases.

With the forthcoming OMD Event looming on the horizon, it's worth mentioning that proceeds from the event will be going to two charities who are happy to be associated with the event.

Asthma UK is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of asthma sufferers in the UK. The charity works together with people with asthma, health professionals and researchers to develop and share expertise to help people increase their understanding of asthma and reduce the effect of it on their lives.

The choice of this charity was inspired by the fact that Paul Humphreys has a personal connection to the devastating effects of asthma since his sister died in childhood from the ailment.

ChildFlight is a children's charity based at Manchester Airport with its focus on fundraising in the areas of Manchester, Blackpool, Wirral and the North West of England. ChildFlight is a charity which specialises in providing flights and holidays for sick and deserving children of all ages such as children who require medical treatment abroad or have missed out on childhood experiences due to illness.

The OMD Event will feature a series of raffles and auctions featuring a variety of interesting OMD items with proceeds being divided between both charities.
