Just a note that OMD will only be playing the German dates on the forthcoming Nokia Night Of The Proms event.

OneTwo have more live shows planned - including headlining at the Electronic/Gothic Festival in Leipzig on 3rd June.

Because there's an expected crowd of between 6-8,000 people at the Festival, Paul and Claudia will also be doing a warm-up show in London next week. The gig is at Madame Jojo's on Thursday 1st June on their ElectroGogo night. OneTwo will be doing a 50min set. Tickets can be bought on the door for £6 but for guaranteed entry (no queuing) go to http://tickets.electrogogo.com where tickets will be £6 (+ £1 booking fee & collect on the door).

Guesting as OneTwo's extra musicians will be the remix team The Manhattan Clique.

OMD will be performing as part of the forthcoming Nokia Night Of The Proms later this year. The event combines pop and rock acts backed by an orchestra and has become a very popular event in Europe.

Other acts joining OMD on the set list include Mike Oldfield and John Miles.

Meanwhile, OMD continue to practice for their own live tour and have now rehearsed Messages, Maid Of Orleans, Souvenir, Electricity and Enola Gay. The band did two more songs today as well. Messages was the first song they ran through - a performance which was filmed by the TV crew who are making a documentary on the band as previously reported.

18th May 2006

OMD take to the studio on Monday for rehearsals ahead of the forthcoming live dates. Andy McCluskey, Paul Humphreys, Martin Cooper and Mal Holmes will be running through six classic OMD songs over a four day period: Enola Gay, Souvenir, Joan Of Arc, Maid Of Orleans, Messages and Electricity.

Meanwhile, there's an update on the OMD/Peter Saville installation project: They've now been granted permission to access the five facilities they had in mind for the work. If you're interested in just where they're going, here's the list of installations:

  • North Hoyle Wind Turbine Farm
  • Dinorwig Hydro-Electric Power Station
  • Point Of Ayr Gas Terminal
  • Fiddlers Ferry Coalfield
  • Heysham-B Nuclear Power Station

In other news, the Motor Museum were the proud recipients of a platinum disc cataloguing 1 million sales of the Arctic Monkeys debut album. The band recorded their first single as well as their demos at the studio. They've also recorded 2 tracks from their new album at the Museum as well.

2nd May 2006

OMD and Peter Saville have been offered the opportunity to take part in the Manchester International Arts Festival in summer 2007.

This collaboration will feature an installation exploring several Northern British power stations accompanied by brand new ambient music written specially for the piece by OMD.
