Plans to issue The History Of Modern as a special package appear to be moving forward.
The meeting yesterday to discuss the forthcoming OMD album The History Of Modern was a great success according to Andy McCluskey and also means that some plans for the album are looking more likely:
"We plan to make a limited edition special package available that will include vinyl, bonus tracks, special booklet, etc."
The History Of Modern will be OMD's first studio album since 1996's Universal and builds on the band's recent reformation and successful live shows.

Anyone who missed out on obtaining some of the new shirts from the joint OMD/Simple Minds tour last year will be pleased to know that the shirts are now available via the OMD Merchandise section.
We also have copies of Electricity: OMD with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra DVD available for sale.

Andy McCluskey was recently interviewed by the Wall Street Journal for an article exploring the history and influence of Nikola Tesla.
Tesla was an important contributor to the development of the modern electrical system during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly his work with the alternating current (AC) system. His work also influenced the 1984 single Tesla Girls.

Andy McCluskey is being interviewed for The One Show for the BBC for a brief five minute segment looking at the story behind the song Enola Gay. The programme is due for broadcast on 26th January.

More news on the forthcoming new OMD album The History Of Modern. There is a meeting in London on 20th January with the new label, international license/distribution manager and tour agent.
The meeting will discuss the planning for the release date and also the European label campaign in advance of Midem meetings.
Paul Humphreys is coming to Liverpool on 25th Jan to work on finalising tracks for album.
Peter Saville has agreed to do the artwork.
Parts of the album are being sent out for remixes.
