Radio presenter John Peel has died. The BBC website reports that 65 year old Peel died of a heart attack while on holiday in Peru.

John Peel was an early champion for OMD, especially for the legendary Peel Sessions. In fact Peel regularly played new and unknown bands on his show, helping them achieve wider recognition.

UK TV show The UK Music Hall Of Fame features comments and feedback from various music industry people, including the likes of Tony Wilson, Gary Numan, Pete Wylie and Paul Rutherford. The real bonus for OMD fans is that Andy McCluskey is also featured.

The UK Music Hall Of Fame invites people to vote for the band or artist from various decades - 70's, 80's and 90's - they feel deserves a place in the UK Music Hall Of Fame. Each show also provides profiles on a selection of artists up for nomination.

The show is currently running on Channel 4 on Sundays at 9pm, repeated Fridays at 11.30pm.
